REETHS-PUFFER HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM GUIDE

Registering for Courses:

The courses in this curriculum guide will be offered only if registration figures indicate a sufficient demand for the course.  If there is not enough demand, alternative choices will be provided.  Student selections made through this registration process will be considered final.  Freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students must be enrolled in six classes each semester.  Early dismissal students must leave the campus within five minutes of the tardy bell that begins the sixth class.

Summer Registration:

A letter with important back to school information will be mailed to all students and published in the Rocket Review, either at the end of  June or in early August.  During the weeks prior to school, students are assigned a day and time to attend registration.  Our annual registration program is designed to complete many time-consuming tasks so we can begin the school year without interruptions.  All fines and fees owed to Reeths-Puffer must be paid prior to registering and picking up schedules.

High School Offers Chinese

Chinese is a new course that students at the high school may elect for the first time in school history. Through a partnership with Michigan Virtual High School (MVHS) and the Muskegon Area Intermediate School district, Chinese I will be offered as an internet-based instructional course. At present, 17 students have signed up for the course and will receive instruction via the internet through MVHS. A teacher will be assigned locally to support the students as well as assist in the coordination of the course as it relates to technology and instructional material. The instruction will be provided by a certified Chinese instructor. Students will work on an individual basis and can access the course at a time of their choosing. The course will be placed as a “zero” hour course on the high school’s master schedule providing students with the best option to maximize their class load. For more information on this course, contact Mr. Simeon Frang, Assistant Principal at 744-1647 ext. 3701
