BOYS TRACK & FIELD

WIN BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

For the second year in a row, the Boys Track & Field Team dominated the OK Green Conference. Under the leadership of new head coach, Don Ketner, the squad went undefeated in the regular season 6-0. The team was lead by Kevin Battle, who set a school record with most points scored in a career. At their own Rocket Invitational and annual Greater Muskegon City Track & Field Meet, the boys finished second. The team also finished second at the OK Green Conference Meet; however, with their undefeated dual meet season and second place finish, the Rockets prevailed as champions again!

Two track records fell this year for the Rockets. Jared Meier is the new record holder in the 400 meters with a time of 49.62, and Brett Berson broke the 300 meters intermediate hurdles at 39.05

The following Student-Athletes were named to the All-Conference Team: Nick Black, Jim Cooper, Jon Sykes, Alex Hageryd, Lee Thompson, Brett Berson and Derek Begue

The team also sent six members to the State Track & Field Finals. They were Jared Meier in the 400 meters, Berson in the 300 IH hurdles and Begue, Cooper, Sykes and Black in the 3200 m relay.
