Welcome to Reeths-Puffer SchoolsKindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Round-UpFebruary 21, 23 and 28See below for start times...
It's never too early to prepare your child for kindergarten. The reason to get a child ready is so he or she has a good start with "the big school." This time can be exciting and stressful for the whole family. Children ask where they will be going and what they will be doing. Parents have lots of questions too. Kindergarten Round-Up is the time to get those questions answered. Every child who is five years old on or before December 1, 2012, may go to kindergarten, free of charge. Although kindergarten does not start until fall, spring is the time to register and partner with the school for a smooth transition for your child. Each elementary school in the Reeths-Puffer School District will hold a Kindergarten Round-Up. Meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. with registration. This is the time parents can turn in paperwork that is available a head of time (see right hand column) or you may pick up necessary paperwork at any elementary office. A presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. introducing staff, sharing information on transportation, food service, and a general overview of R-P's Kindergarten program.

New this year, legislation has been passed that requires full day Kindergarten if a district wants full reimbursement for that child. Reeths-Puffer's Kindergarten program will run a full day. Reeths-Puffer curriculum experts understand that a full day might pose a concern for some parents because children get tired and traditional instruction might be a challenge for some youngsters. A robust Kindergarten curriculum will be covered; however, the day will also focus on other important areas for each student.
Breakfast and Lunch Programs: Students will have the opportunity to participate in both the breakfast and lunch programs at their elementary building.
Kindergarten is a new and exciting time for your child. The goal of Reeths-Puffer Schools is to build on that excitement and create a positive atmosphere for life long learning.
