Free day care will be provided during Kindergarten Round-Up at all locations!
Again this year, Reeths-Puffer will offer the Kindergarten Enrichment Program. This is a free day care experience for all Kindergarten students attending Reeths-Puffer Schools. The program is optional; no student is required to attend. The Kindergarten curriculum, Developmental Kindergarten (K1) and Kindergarten (K2), will be covered in the regular, half-day program offered in our traditional morning and afternoon sections. The Kindergarten Enrichment Program will provide day care to Kindergarten students on the other half of the school day. The program will focus on four areas of enrichment for each student:
- School Readiness Skills: Children will be provided opportunities to grow the skills necessary to excel in math and reading.
- Fine Arts Experience: Art and music will be integrated into the day to enhance fine motor skills and to develop an appreciation for the arts.
- Movement: Physical exercise and dance will be used to further develop gross motor skills and enhance brain development.
- Socializing: Small children need time to learn appropriate interaction with peers and time will be provided each day for play and organized games and group interactions.
Staffing: Each classroom will be staffed by a certified preschool teacher and an aide. Ideally, each Kindergarten class will stay together for the second half of the day.
Transportation: Students will be transported to and from school on the regular elementary bus runs. Morning Kindergarten students who are not participating in the Kindergarten Enrichment Program may be picked up by a parent or guardian at the end of the morning section. Afternoon Kindergarten students who are not participating in the Kindergarten Enrichment Program may be transported to school by a parent or guardian for the beginning of the afternoon section. Noon bus runs have been eliminated.
Breakfast and Lunch Programs: Students will have the opportunity to participate in both the breakfast and lunch programs at their elementary building.
Kindergarten is a new and exciting time for your child. The goal of Reeths-Puffer Schools is to build on that excitement and create a positive atmosphere for life long learning.
