McMillan Elementary2010-2011 Annual Education Report
Dear Parents and Community Members:
I am pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER) which provides key information on the 2010-2011 educational progress for McMillan Elementary School. The Annual Education Report addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school's report contains information about student assessment, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and teacher quality. If you have any questions about the report, please contact me at 766-3443 for assistance. The Annual Education Report is also available for you to review from our school office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. when school is in session.
Congratulations to the McMillan community of learners, staff and community! We have worked diligently and have remained focused on our school improvement goals over the last years. As a result, we are pleased to announce that McMillan Elementary has made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in English language arts and mathematics. While we are thrilled to have reached this important goal, we are continuously working to improve. In order for our students to continue to meet the goals that we have set forth for continued success in these areas, we need your help. As always, the relentless support of parents, staff and our community will be an important component to McMillan's meeting our AYP goals year after year.
State law requires that we also report additional information.
If you reside outside the Reeths-Puffer District and would like to apply as school of choice, parents will need to pick up a "School of Choice" application and return it between the second Monday in April through the second Monday in May. When considering student assignments, we look for ways in which to best meet their individual needs.
Dream... Believe... Achieve! We are committed to this mission for our students. The 2011 -2012 school year is filled with excitement and anticipation. We are looking forward to integrating technology into our classrooms, thanks to the bond that was supported by our community last November. Please consider visiting our staff blogs, which will keep you updated on the progress of our school improvement initiatives. They can be accessed through the staff pages on our website.
We are pleased to be serving the students and parents of McMillan and look forward to another successful school year.
Warmly,
Dawn Schmitt Principal, McMillan Elementary School |
